I just got the re-mastered digital downloads of both the voice only and dramatized narration and they are great. I was thinking when Alexander Scourby first narrated the Bible in the 1950.s he didn’t have a high end-studio to work in like today. However, his baritone voice is so unique and stands out from amongst all the rest of the Bible Narrations that I have heard. The rest compared to his voice is like a clone to the real thing. The others just don’t have the power and zest that Scoruby has. Scourby has expressions of sorrow, love, anger, joy, sympathy and you feel the Bible as he narrates it. I got both the dramatized and voice only narration and I prefer just his voice, it’s wonderful to my ears. I like the dramatized for some sections of the old Testament where there are different people. The Word of God is made to come alive by his voice…that is my tribute to Alexander Scourby.
