Have you done something you feel is terrible, and now you wonder, “will God forgive me?” Whether you are born again or not, we are all humans who make mistakes. The good news is that whether God will forgive you depends solely on God’s character.

Here is proof from the Bible that God will forgive you of any sin, even those that seem too big:

Will God Forgive Me? The Answer, Plus Bible Verses!

Yes! There is more than enough proof that God will forgive no matter what you have done. Here are some Bible verses to prove it:

  • God Knows You, And Your Weakness

Even when you sin or do something wrong, it doesn’t surprise God. According to (Romans 3:23), “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” everyone is a sinner, and that is the whole point of Grace.

God knows that human beings are weak on their own and is ready to forgive your sins when you confess and repent. In (1 John 1:9) the Bible states, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

  • God’s Nature

God’s nature dictates how He responds to us as the Bible shows. While we receive forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ, God was forgiving, kind, and merciful even before the death of Jesus Christ. That is His nature.

Daniel 9:9 reflects on God’s forgiving nature “To the Lord our God belongs to mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.”

  • God Gave Everything So You Could Access Forgiveness

Knowing that God wants to forgive you is a good indication that God will forgive you. God wanted you to access forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ so much that He sacrificed His only son for you.

The Bible in (John 3:16) states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God loves you so much and is ready to forgive you to ensure that you get eternal life.

  • It Is Not About What You Do, But Who You Are!

God forgives your sins and saves you through Grace because you are His child. Forgiveness is not determined by what deeds you do because no one can be blameless.

However, once you confess and repent your sins and accept Jesus Christ, your faith gives you a channel to receive His Grace and forgiveness.

Being born again makes you a child of God, to whom Grace is availed as the Bible states in  (John 1:12), “But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the Sons of God”

  • Forgiveness Is Guaranteed

God himself assures you of forgiveness as in these Bible verses:

(Ephesians 1:7), “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

(Hebrews 10:17) “ And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”

God is willing to forgive when you repent your sins because He is merciful.
